Richard has been playing drums since he discovered he had hands. Rich has been playin bands for over 50 years in the Central California area where he was born and raised. Captain Rich has played in some of the top blues and rock bands in the Fresno, Hanford, and central coast areas, including the Richie Blue Band, Trey Tosh, the Lucky Lopez Band, Roadhouse, and RAIL. Rich’s varied styles of playing and vocal harmonies have played a major part in the sound of these bands. Having recently retired from the everyday work world, he and his wife relocated to Reno. Missing his love of preforming in a live band, Richard decided to seek the limelight again! The Deckheads invited him to join the crew in April of 2019, and it has been full speed ahead since then! Cap’n Rich really enjoys playing Trop Rock with this bunch of talented rogues!
